Way back in 1935, Purcell designed a canvas and rubber badminton sneaker for Converse. He wanted a Converse men’s shoe that would provide more support on the badminton court. This Converse men’s shoe looks very similar to the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars, but can be easily distinguished by the signature “smile” across the toe.

Like always, Converse men’s shoes move forward with unique new styles, but still keep true to their roots, with classics like the Jack Purcell.  Jack Purcell Converse for men are no different: still an incredibly popular style for men, in July, you’ll see a modern collaboration between Converse Jack Purcell and XLarge and X-Girl. They’ve taken the classic Jack Purcell Converse look and made it more contemporary, with white canvas and embroidery details on the heel.

In summer 2010 you’ll also see a new twist on an old classic with  Jack Purcell men’s boat shoes, and this fall, Converse will also preview three new styles of the Jack Purcell Converse.
