Vans Shoes Bring Plaid Back

As summer gets closer, we begin to see plaid popping up in everything from bathing suits to Bermuda shorts. Vans has gotten on board with plaid, which is even more popular this year, and has released their version of tartan with the Vans Era “Plaid Pack.”

Choose between three different designs, featuring bright plaid patterns on the toe box and heel, sturdy canvas uppers, and white vulcanized rubber sole. The colour schemes to choose from are traditional-looking red plaid with blue uppers, yellow plaid with purple uppers, or pink plaid with yellow uppers. While Vans calls the Plaid Pack shoes unisex, the pink one looks decidedly feminine. The Sk8 Hi is the high-top version, available in the same colour palettes as the low-cut Vans shoes versions.

With their vibrant colour schemes and bold plaid motifs, these Vans shoes are a refreshing addition to the company’s straightforward, classic shoes that have also stayed pretty similar throughout the years (like the famous Checkerboard Vans or Classic Slip-ons).

Vans shoes have previously sported plaid, but we haven’t seen it for awhile. In the past few years, we’ve seen the solid, more subdued colours come out in the spring/summer, so it’s nice to see them introducing something fresh for 2010.
