The Dr. Martens Manton: Classic and Sporty
Have you checked out the Dr. Martens Manton yet? It might look a bit out of place next to sturdy Doc Martens boots on Canadian shoe store shelves, but the Manton fits right in as a sport Desert Boot with suede uppers and casual colour accents on the mid-soles.
Dr. Martens are best known for their classic eight-eyelet boots, but the Manton brings a new twist to the casual, more serious style of the earlier Docs. The Manton actually closely follows the shape of the Dr. Martens 8-hole-boot, but has added a slightly-elevated toe box and the use of white over the sole, heel tabs and laces.
Dr. Martens previously released the Desert Boot Manton’s but has added to new colours for this season: black and brown suede. It’s a take on Dr. Martens classic Desert Boots that have been around for years, with a sporty twist.
You’ve got your classic Dr. Martens stitching and telltale loop on the back of the boot (the Manton is really a hybrid of the classic two-eyelet Doc Marten and the low-cut desert boot). Of course, you also get the comfort of the trademark air-cushioned sole.
Basically, Dr. Martens has merged two shoe styles: the classic Doc and the sporty ankle boot, in a number of colours (black, white, gray, light brown and dark brown).
